Do you walk away from important conversations wishing they had gone differently? Maybe those conversations keep escalating into conflicts. Or maybe you avoid them for fear they will lead to conflict.
This ongoing series of workshops for men can help you. We focus on getting under the surface issues of any conversation – especially arguments and conflicts – to understand the human needs that underlie them.
We’ll explore practical tools to help you:
You can expect to gain insight into yourself and create some space to be more flexible in your approach to communication.
This month’s workshop will focus on the differences between our needs and the strategies we use to try to meet those needs.
Sunday, June 14th, 1:00 – 3:30 pm.

7pm to 8pm, every Wednesday. Audiobook club.
Each week we’ll spend 5 minutes recapping prior sessions, listen to about 20 minutes of the audiobook, then spend 40 minutes discussing it. Sessions are one hour. No book is required. You’re welcome to speak, listen, or join at any point, even if you miss some weeks.
We’re living in a time of growing division. It’s becoming harder to talk openly, stay connected, or understand people with different views. This isn’t happening by accident. This group exists to start a conversation about why this is happening and what we can do about it. Words like totalitarianism, fascism, and authoritarianism are used a lot, often without much historical understanding. This group will focus on totalitarianism, using Hannah Arendt’s The Origins of Totalitarianism to look at tactics used in Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia—and how similar tactics show up today. Talking and debating ideas is essential to democracy. We hope you’ll join us.
Organized by Susanne Hedley and Bill Kilpatrick.

Organized by the Canadian Friends Service Committee (Quakers) and the Canadian Coalition for Nonviolence Resistance.
No registration needed (because Erin has already registered for all) , just turn up.
Kindly hosted at the peace museum Erin.
