Operational independence

We operate with independence from government and donors. Major donors are not permitted to perform governance duties, not direct us on the content or focus of the museum.

Our formal exhibits are curated by teams that include people with relevant lives experience.

Museums are never neutral. We are not neutral on the topics or peace. We are pro-peace and anti-war. Further reading, Canadian Museums Association's Winter 2025 MUSE Magazine "Activism & Museums"
